The Lycra Company introduced its Fibers That Work portfolio at the NSC Safety Congress & Expo in Indianapolis, running 11–17 September 2026, showcasing fiber technologies aimed at improving comfort, durability, visibility and protection in workwear and protective apparel. The company develops fiber and technology solutions for the apparel and personal care industries.
“Comfort is fundamental to workwear performance,” said Tara Maurer-Mackay, product category director, branded specialty products at The Lycra Company. “Our innovations help workers adapt to changing conditions throughout the day with fibers that move moisture to keep them dry if they sweat, stretch that allows them to move freely, and solutions that enhance visibility for safety. Leveraging our decades of innovation in comfort technologies, we are uniquely positioned to help our customers create garments that workers can trust in demanding environments.”
The Lycra Company presented performance solutions for key workwear challenges, including moisture management, visibility, anti-static protection and durability. The company’s Lycra Antistatic fiber provides inherent anti-static performance while delivering comfort and fit associated with the Lycra brand.
Likewise, Lycra T400 fiber creates durable fabrics for workers that offer comfort stretch, a consistent fit and moisture management, and withstand up to 100 industrial washes. These are among the innovations in the expanding Fibers That Work portfolio, which the company says reflects growing demand for workwear solutions that combine protection, comfort, durability and sustainability benefits, including products made with recycled and renewable materials.
“Today’s workwear market requires solutions that go beyond protection,” said Melissa McGlynn, senior strategic account manager. “Brands and manufacturers seek to enhance comfort, durability and performance while differentiating their products in the market. The NSC Safety Congress & Expo is the ideal venue to demonstrate how our fiber technologies address these evolving needs.”
The Lycra Company develops fiber and technology solutions for the apparel and personal care industries and owns consumer brands including Lycra, Lycra HyFit, Lycra T400, Coolmax, Thermolite, Elaspan, Supplex and Tactel. Headquartered in Wilmington, Delaware, US, the company says it is recognized for its product quality, technical expertise and marketing support.
