UNIFI, the maker of Repreve recycled yarns, has launched Cofira, a yarn that combines spun yarn comfort with filament functionality, and Resist2O Pro, a water-resistant technology, the company stated. UNIFI will showcase both at Performance Days Munich in Germany on October 13-14 and at the Functional Fabric Fair in Portland, Oregon, on October 26-28.
Cofira can be tailored with synthetic, blended, and functional fiber technologies for enhanced performance. According to the company, it offers design flexibility that supports the integration of sustainable performance technologies and is suited to apparel, furnishings, gear, and accessories.
The yarn combines spun yarn aesthetics with filament yarn performance in one construction and is said to enable distinct fabric aesthetics and hand feel. It can be combined with other UNIFI technologies, including A.M.Y., ChillSense, and ReFlexx. Cofira is available globally in virgin and Repreve polyester yarns, including Repreve Takeback. The Repreve options are traceable via FiberPrint technology and certified by U-TRUST, GRS, and SCS for recycled content.
UNIFI also launched Resist2O Pro, an expansion of its water-resistant offerings engineered for all types of fabric formation. The company said the technology is designed to deliver durable water resistance without compromising fabric performance, giving brands and manufacturers greater freedom to develop water-resistant fabrics without topical treatments or fluorinated chemistry. It is intended for applications ranging from apparel and footwear to furnishings and industrial uses.
Resist2O Pro minimizes water absorption and eliminates the need for traditional topical durable water repellent (DWR) finishes. It uses fluorine-free and PFOA-free technology, with PFOA-free defined as below 5ppb.

At Performance Days Munich, UNIFI will exhibit Cofira and Resist2O Pro at Stand J18. At the Functional Fabric Fair, the company will be at Stand 730.
