KL Druck installs Durst P5 350 HSi, adds SMP machine to expand digital production

Kürten & Lechner (KL Druck), based in Bergisch Gladbach, Germany, has installed a Durst P5 350 HSi large-format digital printing system and will shortly add a Durst SMP super-multi-pass machine as part of its continued transition from analog to digital production, aimed at increasing production capacity and operational efficiency.

The company has evolved from its origins in screen and offset printing into a provider of both analog and digital advertising media for point-of-sale applications, trade fairs and events.

KL Druck’s digital transformation began 28 years ago with its first digital printing machine and an early partnership with Durst. Today, the company operates seven Durst systems and continues to invest in automated production.

As customer demand shifts toward mass customization and highly individualized campaigns produced on an industrial scale, reliable production systems, high OEE, planning security, flexibility and reduced setup times have become essential, according to the company. The Durst P5 350 HSi supports these requirements through semi-automated production, automated stacking and digital substrate alignment (DSA), which digitally compensates for sheet misalignment to help ensure precise motif positioning.

The latest Durst Entera ink further expands production possibilities, said to enable new applications and a wider color gamut to better meet customer expectations.

Rooted in a tradition of craftsmanship while maintaining a focus on technological innovation, KL Druck continues to position itself as a full-service partner for POS, trade fair, event and digital solutions, with Durst technology remaining a key part of its plans going forward.
