HS Hyosung Group marked the 60th anniversary of its founding and the second anniversary of its launch with a ceremony held on 30 June 2026 at its headquarters in Mapo, Seoul. The event reflected on the group’s achievements over the past two years while reaffirming its commitment to a new phase of growth.
The ceremony was attended by employees in Korea, while more than 20 domestic and overseas business sites joined via live online broadcast. Participants pledged to build the group’s future together as it marked the milestone.
A total of 429 long-serving employees were recognized during the event. The ceremony featured a keynote address by chairman Kim Kyoo Young, the first professional manager from outside the founding family to serve as chairman in the group’s 60-year history. Kim, who has said that those with the greatest capability and performance should rise to the highest positions regardless of family ownership, was appointed chairman earlier this year.
“Today, as we celebrate the 60th anniversary of our founding and the second anniversary of HS Hyosung, we must not only reflect on our journey but also reaffirm the direction we must pursue,” Kim said. “We must fully embrace the meaning of our slogan, ‘Value, Together,’ and achieve an unparalleled competitive edge through overwhelming depth and breadth.”
Kim also reflected on the company’s history. “HS Hyosung traces its roots to the tire cord business, the group’s very first business established 60 years ago and still one of our core businesses today. We continue to carry forward that proud legacy,” he said. “Contrary to market expectations that it would take more than three years to stabilize the newly established group, we completed one of the most successful corporate separations in Korea in just two years.”
He credited the achievement to the collective dedication of HS Cho, the leadership team, and employees, expressing his respect for their commitment and hard work.
Kim stressed the importance of remaining faithful to the core values proven throughout the company’s 60-year history as the foundation for sustainable competitive leadership.
