Durst Group has opened Durst Como, a new production and technology hub in the Como textile district in Lombardy, Italy, representing an investment of approximately Euro 20 million in buildings and infrastructure. The hub is dedicated to digital textile printing and will focus on inkjet technology development, software, applied research, and industrial printing solutions.
The project stems from the acquisition of Aleph, a company specializing in the design and development of inkjet solutions for direct-to-fabric and paper printing. The acquisition was initiated in 2023 and completed in 2025; Aleph has since been merged into Durst Group S.p.A. Durst Group said the Como hub extends its existing textile presence – anchored by a facility in Kufstein, Austria – into a region it described as a global center of textile expertise, known for its role across the textile supply chain, fashion, and high-value applications.
“Como has been printing the world’s textiles for generations. We are not here to pass through. We are here to stay,” said Christoph Gamper, chief executive officer and co-owner of Durst Group. “Durst Como is a long-term commitment: European technology, built here, for the world.”
Durst Group, headquartered in Brixen/Bressanone, Italy, reported revenues of more than Euro 430 million. The company said it has invested more than Euro 50 million in its textile business over the past 12 years, across international market development, laboratory infrastructure, and its sites in Brixen/Bressanone and Kufstein. The group said it aims to double revenue over the next five years, with the Como hub forming part of that growth strategy.
