Arclin’s Nomex fabrics with EcoForce finish, a non-fluorine repellent treatment for personal protective clothing, have been selected as a finalist in the Sustainable Innovation Award category of the World Sustainability Awards 2026. According to the company, the finish uses bio-based materials and does not contain per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS).
The Sustainable Innovation Award recognizes newly launched products, services and business models that deliver measurable environmental, social and business impact through sustainable design. Nomex with EcoForce finish was selected as a finalist by an independent panel of chief sustainability officers and senior sustainability leaders from global organizations.
The fabrics are designed for workers in industries such as chemical, manufacturing, transportation and mining. They provide multi-hazard protection covering flame, arc flash, high-visibility, welding, and low volume water and chemical splash, while meeting international safety standards. The company said the durable finish helps extend garment life, reduces waste and removes the need for costly refinishing to maintain repellency.
EcoForce’s proprietary finish is made with bio-based materials and uses non-fluorine repellent chemistry. It was developed to meet evolving customer and regulatory demands, and the company said it enhances worker safety while reducing environmental impact through renewable materials and fluorine-free chemistry.
