Blueland, a company known for plastic-free cleaning products, has launched PowerDuo Laundry Tablets, a dual-layer laundry tablet designed to address stains and odors separately within a single product. The company said the tablets deliver 50% more cleaning power than its standard Laundry Detergent Tablets, describing them as its most powerful laundry formula to date. The tablets are pre-dosed and, according to the company, 100% free of plastic and microplastics.
Because stains and odors call for different cleaning technologies, PowerDuo keeps its key ingredients separated into two distinct layers until the wash begins, allowing them to work together during a single cycle. The blue bioenzyme stain-fighting layer builds on Blueland’s existing laundry-tablet technology, using four enzymes that target different types of stains and are said to help prevent removed dirt from resettling on fabric.
The white oxi-action layer adds oxygen-powered cleaning along with a fifth enzyme developed to break down body grime, described as the buildup behind sweat stains, collar rings and lingering activewear odors. Combined, the two layers contain 15 active cleaning ingredients, including five bioenzymes and oxi-action, intended to address stains and odors ranging from red sauce, coffee, sticky foods and starches to sweat, smoke and pet odors.
PowerDuo Laundry Tablets were independently tested using the Stain Removal Index (SRI), an industry method that measures stain removal before and after washing. In cold-water body-grime testing, the company said PowerDuo Laundry Tablets recorded the highest SRI score among the natural and conventional laundry products evaluated, scoring approximately 75% higher than the next-highest performer. The testing focused on some of laundry’s most persistent challenges, including sweat, skin oils, armpit stains, collar rings and the body grime that can build up in activewear and other fabrics over time.

PowerDuo Laundry Tablets are made with plant- and mineral-based ingredients and are said to be 100% free of plastic and microplastics, with no PVA/PVOH plastic film or coating. The formula is hypoallergenic and independently patch tested for sensitive skin, and is formulated without alcohol ethoxylates, 1,4-dioxane, PFAS, phthalates, chlorine bleach, parabens, phosphates or optical brighteners.
Blueland said it has earned more third-party health and sustainability certifications than any other brand in the cleaning industry. All PowerDuo Laundry Tablet formulas are certified by EPA Safer Choice, Cradle to Cradle, USDA Biobased and Leaping Bunny, while the fragrance-free formula is also EWG Verified and has earned the National Eczema Association Seal of Acceptance.
