YKK will construct a third manufacturing factory in India through its subsidiary YKK India, with the new facility to come up at ‘Origins by Mahindra, Chennai’ in Tamil Nadu’s Tiruvallur district. Scheduled for completion in February 2028, the factory will complement two existing facilities in Haryana and is intended to serve both domestic demand and export-oriented markets, according to the company.
The new facility will be built across a land area of 149,936 sq m, with a building area of 74,658 sq m. YKK India has invested USD 150 million in the project, covering land, buildings, machinery, and equipment.
The company said the Chennai facility will integrate YKK’s manufacturing technologies and be capable of producing a wide range of fastening products. YKK India also said it plans to expand local employment through the new factory and contribute to the surrounding community.
YKK India, headquartered in New Delhi, was established on September 26, 1995. Its existing manufacturing operations are based in Bawal, Haryana, and it maintains sales offices across major Indian cities as well as in Nepal, Jordan, and the UAE.
