Carrington Textiles, a global workwear textile manufacturer and a division of RTS Textiles Group, has published its third Sustainability Report, outlining another year of progress toward more responsible manufacturing across its global operations.
The report reflects the company’s continued investment in technologies and initiatives aimed at improving environmental performance while supporting long-term business resilience, spanning renewable energy, water stewardship, circular economy projects and product innovation.
Among this year’s highlights is the completion of a new wastewater treatment plant in Pakistan, which significantly strengthens water treatment capacity at CTi ahead of the plant becoming operational later this year. The site has also expanded its circular economy initiatives through the reuse of biomass and coal ash in brick manufacturing, alongside projects supporting local biodiversity.
At MGC in Portugal, investment in renewable energy and energy efficiency has continued, with solar generation capacity increasing to 8.3 MW and further projects underway to reduce natural gas consumption and carbon emissions. At Pincroft in the UK, progress has continued through combined heat and power (CHP), the ongoing development of its carbon roadmap and wider decarbonization initiatives.
The report also highlights how RTS Textiles Group continues to expand its use of fibers and technologies that combine comfort, protection and performance with a reduced environmental impact, said to support customers in achieving their own sustainability objectives.
John Vareldzis, chief executive officer of RTS Textiles Group, said, “Building on the foundations established in previous years, this report highlights our progress and reaffirms our commitment to responsible manufacturing, innovation and transparency across our global operations.”
Carrington Textiles exports to more than 80 countries and produces 130 million metres of fabric annually as a group, from production factories in Pakistan, Portugal and the UK. Across Europe, the Middle East, Australasia and beyond, workers use workwear made from Carrington Textiles fabrics.
The company specializes in developing fabrics and finishes for demanding workplace environments and has introduced a series of innovations for performance requirements in areas including heavy industry, light engineering, food processing, retail, distribution, pharmaceuticals, healthcare and defense.
