YKK has developed Luxflat, a metal zipper for bags, and plans to launch it globally in November. According to the company, the zipper’s element shape and specially developed tape reduce the sliding resistance commonly found in standard metal zippers.
The company stated that the flatter element surface lowers sliding resistance by more than 60% compared with standard metal zippers. The flat appearance of the zipper chain is also said to give a premium look and a smoother touch, and Luxflat is said to enhance the quality of premium leather bags.
YKK said it will continue to develop products with enhanced functionality while responding to evolving market needs and the values sought by society.
