Smartlinen, a textile management platform for the hospitality industry, has introduced Ask Debbie, said to be the hospitality industry’s first AI Linen Expert, designed for hotel housekeeping and laundry teams. Powered by artificial intelligence and real-time Smartlinen data, Ask Debbie converts millions of inventory events into insights. Whether users ask simple questions or select from a library of curated questions, they receive immediate answers and recommendations, removing the need to search reports or manually analyze data.
Hotel teams can instantly get answers to questions such as where their linens are at a given moment, why they are short on towels on a particular day, what inventory they should purchase, which items are approaching the end of their life, and how healthy their overall linen program is.
Unlike general-purpose AI tools, Ask Debbie was built specifically for hospitality. According to the company, it understands every aspect of a hotel’s linen program, helping teams reduce loss, optimize inventory, extend textile life, and make informed decisions. “Ask Debbie is a game-changing innovation for the hospitality industry,” said Marlon Serbin, vice president of sales at Smartlinen. “Managers no longer need to manually count inventory or search through reports. They simply ask a question and receive immediate answers that improve efficiency, reduce costs, and optimize textile performance.”
The company said the intelligence behind the platform comes from millions of inventory events captured daily across hotels and commercial laundries, forming what it describes as one of the hospitality industry’s largest textile intelligence databases.
The Smartlinen network currently supports more than 250 hotel and commercial laundry locations, processing over 130 million textile scan events while monitoring more than one million Smartlinen-enabled textile assets each month.
